This opportunity provides in-depth education on the fashion industry through the lens of African American/ minority experts across multiple areas of the industry. Interns will learn about the fashion production cycle from design and production to marketing and selling.
This summer internship program will give interns an in-depth look at what it takes to grow your career in the fashion industry. This internship is not just for designers, CFA is looking for young men interested in marketing, merchandising, product development, and design.
more about the program
Each week the interns will learn about design, technical design, sourcing, materials, suppliers, styling, merchandising, marketing/branding, innovation, and more. Interns will have a chance to engage, ask questions, and document their learning in their program workbooks.
Not only interns learn from top minority experts but they will apply this knowledge through producing their own fashion collection for the CFA’s merchandise brand Not For Profit! Once the collection has been produced, CFA will work with retail and neighborhood partners to create a pop-up fashion boutique experience ran by the interns.
This is a 10 week, on-site, internship program that pays $15/hour and will take place at the CFA production labs located inside the Columbus Idea Foundry at 421 W State St. Columbus, OH 43215
This opportunity is focused on high school age, young boys and men of color.
