We exist, in part, to support fashion based businesses and entrepreneurs. Our mission is to build a community and ecosystem that supports the launch and growth of fashion based businesses – and with the pandemic running rampage through our lives, what better time to support local artists and our community?
CFA teamed up with Franklin County and Welcoming City to design, create and provide masks to underserved communities through our SLAY SAFE mask campaign. This initiative had two agendas – to provide free masks to the community and provide income for local entrepreneurs.
Our first step in the process was contracting design work from local minority fashion designers to make custom fabric with which to make one-of-a-kind masks.
Once the custom printed fabric arrived, it along with each designer’s mask pattern was sent to more than 10 minority vendors to produce 15,000 masks.
There will be 12,000 masks distributed into the community for free and the rest will be sold here, on the website, with the proceeds going to CFA scholarship and operational costs.
Watch the impact.
